The 270 being a decent do it all street cam and the 280 a do it all street cam with a sacrifice of streetability= less lower rpm torque and vacuum for more upper rpm power. "In a 350" it's really the first step in cams that shifts the power closer to the upper rpm's. If you have 9.75+ compression (not likely unless you have flat top pistons and the 67-68cc heads) you could go with more cam like the 280 Magnum but even with 202/160 valves it really likes a mild amount of head porting to help it breath. As long as you have around 9.5-9.75 compression then something like the Comp Cams 270 Magnum would work well with those heads, 355 gears and the 4spd. If you're looking for something as simple as the 350HP cam then I suggest an older design aftermarket cam because they are easier on the valvetrain.
